Step 1
Start by making the first diagonal stitch over one intersection of fabric, coming up at 1 and down at 2. |  |

Repeat step 1, coming up at 3 and down at 4. |

Step 3
Work rows of stitches to fill shapes. It may help to turn the work upside down when working rows back in the opposite direction to the first row. |  |
