This is another hand embroidery design using layers of chiffon bonded together with Bondaweb. The first sample I produced used a real leaf sandwiched between calico dyed in coffee and chiffon painted with silk paints. In later samples the leaf itself was made from fabric.
This design works equally well as a hand stitched version or in free machine embroidery. The hand stitched version uses couching, backstitch, whipped running stitch, double running stitch and split stitch.
