Whilst studying for my City and Guilds I covered the subject of Mountmellic Embroidery. This is worked in white threads on a white background - not really me! However, the wonderful textures of the stitches really appealed. This design takes those textures and combines them with colour and a modern background of scrim and painted bonding web to create a lovely textural piece that has been turned into a book cover.
