This free-motion machine embroidery is designed around a grid and uses layers of space dyed silk organza combined with hand embroidery and glass beads. The machine embroidery technique used is a machine quilting method. The flowers are first outlined in machine stitching which gives them a raised quilted effect. They were then stitched over with satin stitch which throws them into even more relief. Small beads were added for the centre of the flowers.
