The Indian Purples free-motion machine embroidery design was inspired by an Indian embroidery and the patterns within Indian white work. I changed the colours from the original quite substantially following many failed attempts at making colours more similar to the original "work". The design uses transfer foil, appliqué and reverse appliqué together with machine and hand embroidery techniques all worked on hand dyed silks. Various beads and some silver braid were also used to good effect.
