Circles is another free-motion machine embroidery design worked around a grid, this piece was deliberately worked in a colour combination that I found challenging. Not everyone agrees that doing this is a good idea as you may immediately dislike the work you produce. However, it can be one way to make exciting discoveries about colour.
The circular pattern of the stitch on this piece causes the fabric to distort and ripple giving the piece a textural quality. The fabrics are all hand painted silks.
