Many stitch books suggest producing samplers in just one stitch and it is certainly a valuable exercise to have a go at.
This sampler is entirely worked in detached chain stitch (otherwise known as lazy daisy stitch). I used one of those hanks of mixed threads and added some machine embroidery threads, a white stranded cotton and a fine ribbon. The background fabric is an evenweave Jobelan which meant that I could stitch easily with both fine and thick threads.
My Lazy Daisy Squares design is based on the variety of different possibilities discovered when doing this sampler.
